Commitment Form for Participation in the “KOMΠΟΣΤΟ” initiative by C.I.P. Citizens in Power

ΚΟΜΠΟΣΤΟ initiative:

The aim of KΟΜΠΟΣΤΟ initiative – is to integrate composting in every family and every social institution. The first target groups of our initiative include private or public schools of early childhood, primary, and secondary education.

The groups are responsible for:

  1. Distinguishing organic waste from mixed waste (methods and separation systems can be developed within the classroom so that the final transport of organic waste can be done easily and efficiently).
  1. Following the correct procedures for each composting system applied (there are 3 types).
  1. Regularly ensuring the proper functioning of the compost bins in accordance with the instructions given by the CIP organization. Sending weekly email update to info@citizensinpower.org for the first 2 months of composting (in which they should include photographic material, the measurement of the weight of organic waste added to the bin, update of the excel file which will be compiled by the CIP team, feedback for the improvement of the process).
  1. Issuing a monthly report via email to  info@citizensinpower.org after the successful completion of the first 2 months (in which they should include photographic material, approximate  measurement of the weight of organic waste added to the bin, update of the excel file which  will be compiled by the CIP team, feedback for the improvement of the process). 
  2. Ιssuing a final report via email to info@citizensinpower.org before the end of the current school year (in which they should include photographic material, approximate measurement of the total weight of organic waste added to the bin, update of the excel file which will be compiled by the CIP team, feedback for the improvement of the process).
  3. Issuing the final results including the total weight of natural organic fertilizer produced, photographic material, and the total number of participants in the process including students and teachers).

*Note: Responsibilities 4-7 will be under the guidance and cooperation of the CIP person in charge of the “ΚΟΜΠΟΣΤΟ” initiative.

Benefits & Awards:

  1.  Participation in an annual competition for the best “KΟΜΠΟΣΤΟ” team (the criteria for the competition will be devised and revised where needed according to the needs and the number, location of the participant schools – e.g. Competition by province, Competition by educational levels, Pancyprian, Competition for the production of fertilizer, Competition for the best combination of systems, etc.).
  2. 1st Prize €350 in cash or activity worth €350 for the school which will be evaluated best according to the published criteria of each competition.
  3. 2nd and 3rd Prize, Award Letter
  4.  The other participating teams will receive a Commendation for Participation.
  5. Priority in receiving updates & opportunities for the participating schools regarding the current projects run by the organization.
  6. Alongside the competitions, the “ΚΟΜΠΟΣΤΟ” initiative will provide other opportunities in relation to the Environment for the schools which will participate
    in the initiative.
  7. Raising awareness and informing students, teachers and others involved in the “ΚΟΜΠΟΣΤΟ” initiative on issues related to the circular economy and the positive environmental and social impact composting can have.
